Starter Quest Chains

  • Hollow: Introduction → First Meal → Introduction at the bridge → First Foe → A Nearby Disturbance → The Hunger. Koshiro's chain takes you from consuming Lost Souls through combat and event training to becoming a Gillian. Follow the Hollow tutorial walkthrough for interactions and turn-ins.
  • Soul Reaper: Lost Spirits → Introduction at the bridge → Combat Training → A Soul in Peril → Join a Squad. Riku's chain teaches Soul Passage, sword combat, and rescuing a Lost Soul before directing you toward service in Soul Society. Follow the Soul Reaper tutorial walkthrough for each step.

Join a Squad sends you to the Head Captain in Seireitei, Soul Society, and lists Squad Membership as its reward. Continue with the Squad and Shikai unlock guide for that next stage.

Four Broken Masks: Follow the Green Skulls

With Four Broken Masks active, defeat four marked Arrancar at separate locations, then return to Nao Arashi. The quest panel lists 20,150 EXP.

  1. Follow the green skull markers and their distance labels. Target labels include WESTERN DISTRICT: ARRANCAR and NORTHERN OUTSKIRTS: ARRANCAR.
  2. Fight the marked Arrancar at each destination. An Arrancar Scout is a red-haired, sword-wielding enemy in white clothing. Use the quest markers to identify your targets.
  3. Continue through the marked targets until the quest counter reaches 4/4.
  4. Return to Nao Arashi for the turn-in.

You can fight an Arrancar Scout with sword attacks and Diving Impale in the second skill slot. That combination is an available approach if you have the skill; it is not a quest requirement.

Quest Rewards Versus Combat Rewards

The quest panel's EXP and Yen belong to the quest reward. Enemy kills, soul interactions, event clears, and chest contents are separate rewards, even when you earn them while working on the same objective.

Reward source How to read it
Quest turn-in First Foe lists 2,500 EXP and 225 Yen for the quest.
Individual enemy defeat A 160 EXP kill reward during First Foe is separate from its listed quest EXP.
Soul interaction EXP and Essence from consuming a Lost Soul, or EXP from Soul Passage, belong to that interaction.
Event clear A Soul in Peril lists 1,890 EXP and 150 Yen for the quest; the rescue event can award a Common Event Chest before you return to Riku.
Chest opening The contents are a separate payout from opening the chest.

Use the listed quest reward when comparing turn-ins. Your total gains during a quest also depend on the enemies, soul interactions, and event rewards along the way; adding one run's payouts does not establish a fixed total for every completion.

Active-Quest Limits

If an NPC says you already have a quest, finish or cancel the current quest before trying to accept another. Check your tracker first: an objective that now says Return to still needs its turn-in.

The Multiple Quests game pass describes support for up to three simultaneous mission-board quests. Its stated scope is mission-board tasks, so do not treat it as permission to stack every story NPC quest. See the game-pass comparison for its listed availability and other paid features.
