HOLLOW Roblox Races: Soul Reaper or Hollow?

At SELECT RACE, choose Shinigami or Hollow, then continue into character customization.

• Choose Shinigami if you want to start as a swordsman. You guide departed spirits, train under Officer Riku, and work toward Squad service and your weapon's Shikai release. This is the better fit if training and weapon unlocks are your main draw.
• Choose Hollow if changing forms is the main appeal. You begin by consuming souls, then develop through monster stages with different appearances and skills. Later, removing your mask turns you into a sword-wielding Arrancar.

If your goal is specifically to play an Arrancar, start as Hollow. If you want the Soul Reaper identity from the beginning, select Shinigami.

Vasto Lorde is a stage you can choose to experience before becoming Arrancar, not a universal requirement for mask removal. Both routes begin with a tutorial and combat. Complete your starter quests before settling into repeatable events so you have a clear next objective.

Starting as Shinigami

Riku's training introduces Soul Passage, fighting Hollows, and rescuing a spirit. Complete the Soul Reaper starter quests to reach the Join a Squad instruction.

Your next destination is Soul Society, where the Head Captain in Seireitei handles Squad affiliation. After joining, speak to your Squad Captain for the Officer meditation guidance that leads toward Shikai. Follow the Squad and Shikai unlock guide when you reach that milestone.

Starting as Hollow

Koshiro's opening tasks introduce soul consumption, a summoned enemy, and a tutorial event. The Hunger then directs you toward filling your evolution bar and becoming Gillian. Follow the Hollow starter tutorial for that quest chain.

The later Gillian/Menos stage adds a survival requirement: staying alive increases evolution progress, and enemy kills also advance it. Dying resets that stage's progress. Choose fights you can survive rather than risking accumulated progress on a tougher enemy. This makes Hollow a good fit if you enjoy managing an evolving character alongside combat.
